I'm headed to Calgary and Banff, a very beautiful part of the world. Can you believe I've never been there? A new Canadian province to knock off on my map. I'm on my way to my family reunion in Northern Idaho, so as usual, I'm taking a little detour… what is a 8-10 hour detour anyway? You'll have to convince my kids that it is worth the drive. They still aren't convinced. Now I'm buying video games for their DS. If you're in the area, please join the CALSPUG Calgary SharePoint User Group and come on out!
If anyone is up for a hike on Friday or Saturday please let me know. I could use a guide. Tweet me at @joeloleson
CalSPUG - July 19, 2012 - Social Intranets: The SharePoint and Yammer Evolution
Start Time:
Doors open at 6:00pm. Presentation starts at 7:00pm.
Details:
Traditional portals are seen as more and more inefficient. SharePoint is recognized as the largest Intranet platform, but it is often setup in traditional ways with less social elements turned on or taken advantage of. In this session we'll look at the recent Microsoft acquisition of Yammer and integration between the two.
Target Audience:
All users, admins, and developers.
Speaker: Joel Oleson
Joel loves to travel. He has travelled to over 100 countries since 2008. This past year he visited all 7 continents. While he is a travel junky, he does have a day job.
When Joel is not traveling at all ends of the earth he's managing the collaboration team at the LDS Church. He was the first SharePoint Administrator ever and spent 7 years at Microsoft including a few years on the SharePoint team. This year as a 12 year SharePoint veteran he was awarded 2012 top SharePoint blog and a top 50 global influencer and 25 social influencer in the community
Joel is playing a self proclaimed role in the Microsoft acquisition of Yammer and is recognized by both Microsoft and Yammer as a very influential social media expert (as is evident with the #SPYam SharePoint Community Network on Yammer)
