I’ve been on an extended holiday family vacation and will be flying out of Raleigh on the 7th, but really wanted to get together with the troops in the region before I fly out. The #ShareBBQ thing has been the theme these past few weeks in my search for U.S.A’s Best BBQ. Hilton Head Island, SC has been amazing. Kudos to the SC people. I’ve definitely got to get back to this part of the world, sometime this spring or summer to really see it.
Here’s a couple of the past #ShareBBQ events…
- St Louis style ribs with @mattbremer @mhenthorn in St Louis at Pappy’s Smokehouse featured in Man vs. Food
- Kansas City style ribs at #SPSKC in with @catpaint1 @ericharlan @mrackley at Oklahoma Joes in a gas station, highlighted as one of the 7 places you have to eat before you die, by Anthony Bourdain
Top – Matt Bremer and Mike Henthorn getting ready to dig in at Pappy’s
Bottom (right) – Mark Rackley (guy with the rib) and Cathy Dew
(Read Mark Rackley’s hilarious perspective on SPSaturday KC and the BBQ on his SharePoint Hillbilly Blog)
So join us for the Carolina BBQ! I’ve already seen a lot of good energy on this with bunch of really cool people! SharePoint’s North Carolina’s greatest!

What we’re doing… We’re going to meet up and have some laughs, good conversations, good drinks, eat some BBQ ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, BBQ beans, and all sorts of goodness. We may do a SharePoint 2010 Q&A if the interest is there. :) So far this event is not sponsored, following SharePint rules, it’s dutch at this point, but you can probably talk me into paying for your drink.
Who knows, maybe we’ll take off from there and find an adventure. It’s my last night before I head back to Seattle, so I’m definitely anxious to make the most of it. I think it’s a great excuse to get together to eat good food and meet up with some awesome people in a very informal setting. Definitely looking forward to it.
