I've been following the recent post by Todd Klindt, Ali Salih, Jason Himmelstein, and Trevor Seward where he and a few PFEs confirmed a regression in a December update or hotfix KB2752058. This bug breaks the function of creating self service my sites. Apparently your users can still use the normal self-service creation.

Was looking at Todd Klindt's post on the recent regression. I think we need to hear from the product team on this one. The first real patch for 2013 that says it contains performance and stability fixes has pretty fundamental issues. I do not recommend installing at this time. In fact I think we need to hear from the product team why they didn't pull this down yet. I was hoping I wouldn't have to post about this because it would be taken care of already.

While the RTM bits are available, I think we should be a bit cautious about considering SharePoint 2013 as released. I still have many vendors saying they are holding off considering their 2013 product is released until Microsoft is official on launch and an official GA or general availability. Am I waiting for it to hit shelves? I didn't think so, but now I have to wonder if others are still feeling like it's not over… till it's over. I've got a SharePoint Community Launch party planned for our upcoming SharePoint Saturday Utah, but now I'm wondering if it should be more of a RTM party and Licensing information released party.

I'm one of the more aggressive types on getting cutting edge software, but I realize you can get cut when being on the bleeding edge. I'm very excited about an upcoming workshop on SharePoint 2013 workshop by a good friend at Microsoft. Looking forward to it in a big way.

I've got a thread on in SPYam discussing the regression. Interested to hear your thoughts on this untimely regression. I know we have a bar for service packs, but maybe it should also apply to the first patch of a new product that contains the worlds stability and performance in its title.
