I'm Consulting with Nintex
It's now official.  I am now consulting with Nintex, my role is focused on technical evanglism and product management.  I've been watching Nintex and talking with them for months.  Lots of promise.

I'm really excited about the new Nintex Reporting 2008.  You'll hear more about this tool here on my blog over the next few days and especially at TechEd.

Nintex Reporting

You might have also heard Mike Fitzmaurice is now at Nintex.  It's true, today was his first day and I was there as well.  It was totally cool hanging with Fitz and the Nintex USA crew in Bellevue, WA headed up by Brett Campbell.  Great team, solid company.  Note you should update your blog roll for Fitz as he now has a blog at FitzBlog 2.0.

Don't worry if you were planning on seeing me this summer at various other sessions, training or community events...  My new role should continue to integrate well into my existing plans.  If you haven't follwed... I am very involved in a number of other things this summer.  If you run into me, please ask for a demo of Nintex Reporting or if you check this out at TechEd Developer or IT Pro please let them know that I referred you, or that you heard about it from my blog.
  • I've got 3 sessions at TechEd North American (Orlando) IT Pro (You might find me at the TPG booth or Nintex booth or hanging at the SharePoint booth or definitely at the cool parties.)
  • 3 Sessions at TechEd South East Asia (Can't WAIT!)
  • 2 Sessions at TechEd NZ and AUS... working out the details.
  • I'm teaching the SharePoint Summer Camp (Survival Camp) SSC 401 course with Shane Young, and I'm also developing a new TPG course on Planning and Design with Nicola and John with emphasis on Business roles and responsibilities from branding and design to governance roles and responsibilities and setting up project plans.

Joel vs. Shane

  • I'm doing SharePoint User Group sessions in Ohio and Hawaii.
  • I'm doing customer training and visits in Ohio (sold out) and Switzerland with Andre Heymann and MatchPoint (seats available - sessions will be in English on June 24/25.)
  • I'm working on a secret configuration management tool for SharePoint admins on the side in a newly formed company named IdeaMango (will be at http://www.ideamango.com) .  Look for a demo during the governance session at Tech Ed.

Nintex Workflow

Nintex Workflow had some recent significant updates.  If you ask me it's the easiest workflow solution to implement and use.  I think it's a no brainer.

Saw a WORKFLOW panel session at a user group last week, with Nintex wofklow up against K2 and Skelta...>

Looks like a great product, for small scale workflows akin to SharePoint Designer, but easier for users.
